Omni Family Health CEO Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Bakersfield, California. – October 17, 2022

Omni Family Health Chief Executive Officer Francisco L. Castillon, MPA, is the recipient of the 2022 National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Lifetime Achievement Award, which he recently received at the NACHC Community Health Institute in Chicago. NACHC was founded in 1971 to promote efficient, high-quality, comprehensive healthcare accessible to all. Community health centers across the country serve over 30 million patients per year. The Lifetime Achievement Award honors Mr. Castillon for his years of service, dedication, and contributions to the community health center movement.

Mr. Castillon has been a trailblazer in the healthcare movement for over 30 years. As a young migrant and seasonal farmworker, Mr. Castillon experienced firsthand the challenges of accessing quality healthcare throughout his youth. As a result of these early experiences, his career has been devoted to delivering high-quality medical, dental, behavioral, and other services to the medically underserved, especially the poor, the voiceless, and farmworkers and their families.

“I am honored to have received NACHC’s Lifetime Achievement Award among my colleagues and peers in Chicago. The work of serving the most underserved individuals and families in our communities has been my lifelong passion. I express my deep appreciation to all those who have supported me throughout my career, including my mentors and peers within the community health center movement, the Board of Directors, providers and staff at Omni Family Health, and most of all, my loving wife and family. I look forward to many more years of serving our communities with high-quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare,” shared Omni Family Health Chief Executive Officer Francisco L. Castillon, MPA.

Prior to joining Omni Family Health, Mr. Castillon served as Chairman of the Board of NACHC, CEO of the California Health Federation (the original statewide association representing California’s community health centers), and CEO of numerous Community and Migrant Health Centers (C/MHCs) throughout the state. In addition, Mr. Castillon proudly worked alongside Cesar Chavez to provide healthcare to farmworkers in the Coachella Valley and the Central Valley, especially in the Delano area.

In 2010, Mr. Castillon joined Omni Family Health. Under his leadership, Omni has increased access to vital primary and preventative healthcare services, expanding from 12 health centers serving just 60,038 patients each year to an impressive 38 state-of-the-art health centers serving nearly 130,000 patients throughout California’s Central Valley in Kern, Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties. Omni Family Health continues to grow and expand access to care, with more locations coming soon in Kern and Fresno counties.

According to Omni Family Health Board Chairman Manuel G. Flores, “Having served as a member of the Omni Family Health Board of Directors for nearly seven years and as the Chairman for four of those years, I have had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand Mr. Castillon’s heart for the mission, his passion for serving our patients, and the incredible impact he has made in our communities as a result of his experience and exceptional leadership. I invite our communities to join us in congratulating Mr. Castillon for his years of service, dedication and continued contributions to Omni Family Health and the community health center movement.”
