Omni Family Health Awards $20,000 in Scholarships to Outstanding Students Pursuing Careers in Healthcare

Bakersfield, California. – April 10, 2025

Omni Family Health, a leading healthcare provider serving Kern, Kings, Tulare, and Fresno Counties, is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 scholarship awards, including the launch of its inaugural Omni Family Health Employee Family Scholarship.

This year, 20 exceptional high school seniors have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship to support their pursuit of a college education in healthcare-related fields. The awardees include 15 extraordinary students from our local communities and 5 students who are children of Omni Family Health employees. These scholarships reflect Omni Family Health’s strong commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals and community leaders.

Since the inception of the scholarship program, Omni Family Health has awarded a total of $224,000 in scholarships to 224 deserving high school seniors across the region.

The record number of scholarships were carefully reviewed by the Omni Scholarship Committee , chaired by board member Susan Watkins. The committee evaluated applicants through a rigorous review process to ensure that the scholarships reflect both merit and potential. The Omni board of directors approved the final recommedations at their monthly meeting.

“At Omni Family Health, we believe that investing in our students is an investment in the health and well-being of our communities,” said Watkins. “It was a true privilege to help identify such promising students, and we look forward to seeing the impact they will make in the years to come.” Each recipient will be honored during their respective high school’s award ceremonies, where they will be formally presented with their scholarships.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have resided in or graduated from a school within an Omni Family Health service area. Additionally, they must have expressed a strong interest in pursuing a healthcare career, graduated in the year of the award presentation, and maintained a minimum GPA of 3.5. A letter of recommendation from individuals familiar with the scholarship candidates were also required.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be an immediate family member and live with an Omni Family Health employee, express a strong interest in pursuing a healthcare career, graduated in the year of the award presentation, and maintained a minimum GPA of 3.2. A letter of recommendation from individuals familiar with the scholarship candidates were also required.
