KERN COUNTY RESIDENTS CAN PREVENT THE FLU AT LITTLE OR NO COST
Influenza Vaccinations Now Available At All Omni Family Health Centers
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Sept. 17, 2013 – Omni Family Health, formerly National Health Services Inc., today announced flu vaccines are now available at all their health centers. Interested parties can call 1-800-300-OMNI to make an appointment or visit any of their 19 facilities throughout Kern County. The cost is $35, however most insurances can provide financial assistance including Medi-Cal and Medicare. Omni Family Health also has programs available that allow free vaccinations if certain guidelines are met. “The elderly, young children and individuals with certain health conditions are at high risk for serious flu complications,” said Omni Family Health’s Director of Nursing, Maria Banuelos. “The best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated every year.” The Centers for Disease Control recommends vaccinations for everyone six months of age and older. TEHACHAPI, Calif. – Nov. 19, 2013 – Omni Family Health, formerly National Health Services, Inc., invites local residents to an open house celebration of its newest state of the art walk-in services at its Tehachapi location. The open house will take place on Friday, November 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The facility is located at 161 N. Mill St. Tehachapi, CA 93561. The event is open to the public and free. Additionally, free flu vaccines will be provided to the first 50 adult participants that come by the open house. Newest Facility To Bring Kern County Site Total To Eighteen
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Dec. 11, 2013 – Omni Family Health, formerly National Health Services, Inc., has been serving Kern County since 1978, providing healthcare beyond medicine. The mission of the non-profit healthcare organization continues with the groundbreaking of their newest site, which is located in Oildale on North Chester Avenue. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place Wednesday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. The address is 210 N. Chester Ave. Bakersfield, California 93308. The event is open to the public and will include appearances by Bakersfield Mayor Harvey Hall, Omni Family Health’s CEO Francisco Castillon, and board Chairman John Ogborn. “As part of our expansion effort to better serve our community, this new site will feature more than 22 state-of-the-art examination and consultation rooms in the areas of medical, primary care, specialist and dental referrals, walk-in services, OB/GYN and behavioral health, as well as an onsite pharmacy,” explains CEO Francisco Castillon. The project is funded by the Health Resources Services Administration, with a grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and will feature a modern 15,600 square foot facility, ample parking, and will implement green strategies to maximize in building efficiencies.
